This is late Edo era c. 1850 antique Japanese testubin (tea pot).
It made of cast iron with a bronze lid. A testament to its 150 + year age, there are some minor mineral deposits on the inside and spout opening (see enlarged pictures). They can be removed but I feel enhance the overall appeal as well as flavor of the tea produced from the water from this tetsubin. It has been tested to be water tight. Other than some minor oxidation and mineral deposits on the inside, this tetsubin remains in excellent condtion.
It measures 8 1/2" high (including handle) by 6 1/2" wide (21 x 16 cm). You'll love it, I guarantee it.........
