This is a special Japanese cast iron tea pot which dates to the early Showa Era c. 1940 and has a design of oak leaves in a basket (see enlarged pictures). The lid has a top finial in the shape of a pine cone (see picture 10).It is signed by the Japanese artist on the font near the spout (see last picture). This tea pot has been well used yet well loved and, other than some minor interior oxidation it remains in fine condition. It is water tight and measures about 7" diameter (18 cm) by 5" tall (12.5 cm) not including handle or spout. It holds about one and a half liters of liquid and does very well over flame.
