This is a special Japanese cast iron tea pot which dates to the mid Meiji Era c. 1880 and has an overall zen simplicity. The bronze lid has a signature of the Japanese artist etched deeply on the inside (see picture 8). Topping the lid is bronze finial in the shape of a plum blossom (see picture 9).
This tea pot has been well used yet well loved and, other than some minor oxidation it remains in fine condition. It is water tight and measures about 6 1/2" diameter (17 cm) by 4 1/2" tall (12 cm) not including handle or spout. It holds about one liter of liquid and does very well over flame. You'll love it, I guarantee it......... Satisfaction Guarantee: All items are carefully described and photographed.
